Description
Euzko Ikaskuntza, the Basque Studies Society, was established by the four Basque regional councils in the wake of the First Basque Studies Congress held at Oñati in 1918. This was a period distinguished for the exaltation of Basque unity, with the new society bridging the gap of a modern map covering the full extent of the Basque Country. The task was commissioned to Montaner, Lieutentant-Colonel in the Corps of the General Staff of the Army.
