[Iruñea] [1936?]

Description

Esteban Lipúzcoa, originating from Iruñea, was an outstanding Carlist leader, founder of the Tercio Roncesvalles. Possibly at the outburst of the 1936 War, Lipúzcoa designed this map of the peninsular Basque Country, pinpointing mountain ranges and rivers. Alava and Navarre share the same blue tone, while Gipuzkoa and Biscay show different colours, possibly a projection of war developments during the period.
