Description
The tireless production of cultural works by the Basque exile community in South America conjured up in cartography the homeland left behind. In Buenos Aires, Euzko Deia published on 10 May 1940 a map based on the Euzkadi-Vasconia issued by Bernardo Estornes in 1935. Three years later, another magazine from Uruguay published an illustrated map of the country of the Basques. By 1945, the politician and intellectual from Tolosa Lopez de Mendizabal included two maps in his Breve Historia del País Vasco, published in Argentina.
